April 2011:

• The VDZ reports about the co-firing of alternative fuels in rotary kilns and the impacts on the main burner with regard to flame shape and temperature profiles. The analysis of the effects was carried out with the mobile Powitec Thermography.

March 2011:

• VGB PowerTech publishes an article about SOFCOM - Self-optimizing strategy for control of the combustion process.
• Cemex Beckum certifies the PiT Navigator Mill an increase in throughput of 9.5%.

February 2011:

• Powitec receives the order to deliver a High-Efficiency-SNCR to Dyckerhoff AG. The solution comprises of an adaptive self-learning controller, SPS-emergency-controller, online-3D-temperature-modelling in the rising duct, coating detector to estimate the current coating situation in the rising duct as well as a spraying system with amount and pressure control per nozzle.
  
• International Cement Review reports about new developements: PiT Navigator Cooler, the full automatic, optimising camera-supported clinker cooler control.

January 2011:

September 2010:

• Powitec delivers to Cement plant Leube a PiT Navigator (Non-Linear Model Predictive Control): Calciner, kiln and cooer, a PiT Predictor (NOx-Prognosis) and a PiT Indicator (Thermography) with 3 sensors (sintering zone, igniting area and cooler entree).
• ICR publishes the article "Auto-optimising the Kiln". The self-learning adaptive optimiser is compared with outdated expert systems.
• Pillard reports about the advantages of the Powitec Thermography at high alternative fuel rates: "a very helpful tool both for the customers and Pillard itself with which a faster and more effective optimization of the flame is possible"
• Powitec exhibits on "VGB Kongress Kraftwerke 2010 in Essen, 22.-24.09.2010".
  

August 2010:

• World Cement publishes the Article "Switching to Side View". This article describes in detail the advantages and technical possibilities provided through implementing the  Side View Thermography at high alternative fuel rates at the main burner. With this system constantly over 80% alternative fuels at the main burner - with consistent high product quality - becomes possible.
• Exhibition on the "VGB-Fachtagung Dampferzeuger, Industrie- und Heizkraftwerke 2010" including lecture from Claus Rosner (Head of Machine and Systems Engineering, Vattenfall Europe Wärme AG, Kraftwerk Tiefstack) about "Information based optimisation of the combustion at the co-generation power station Tiefstack" (German)

July 2010:

• Vestforbraending orders - due to the high satisfaction with the performance of the PiT Navigator - another system from Powitec.

June 2010:

• One of the largest cement kilns of the world (12000 tpd) will be equipped with the Powitec system. ACC New Wadi, India, decides for installation of PiT Indicator and PiT Predictor. The up to now largest cement kiln (10000 tpd, Holcim Ste. Genevieve) uses the Powitec systems already with success.

May 2010:

• E.ON Schkopau decides for Powitec intelligent optimisation solutions for optimising the mill system to reduce the maintenance costs.
• Powitec is proud to of having received the hundredth (100 !!!) order for the Powitec intelligent Thermography PiT Indicator

April 2010:

• Powitec introduces the intelligent cement and clinker mill control to reduce specific energy consumption between 2% and 6%, reduce quality deviation (Blaine) by up to 30% and up to 10% more throughput. The product is suitable for ball mills and vertical mills.
• Powitec introduced the cement and clinker mill filling degree indicator. The product is suitable for ball mills and vertical mills.

March 2010:

• International Cement Review (ICR) publishes an article about the results of the Powitec installation at Märker Zement

February 2010:

• Powitec receives the Innovation Price for Climate and Environment from the German Ministry for Environment and the Federation of German Industry (BDI). The scientific evaluation was carried out by the Fraunhofer-Institute for System and Innovation Research (ISI). The Minister for Environment Dr. Norbert Röttgen and  BDI-CEO Hans-Peter Keitel presented in Berlin on 11. February the ward comes with a 25.000 € purse.
